Charles Batten

Photograph of Charles Batten of Rye, New York. Batten was an American soldier killed in action in France on August 28, 1918. The British Secretary of War sent condolences to his parents, and a memorial service for Batten was to take place at Christ's Church on September 25, 1918. This was part of "The 'World War' History of Rye".
