Press Release - Long Islanders Oppose Anti-Immigrant Convention, 7/30/01

Press release from Brookhaven Citizens for Peaceful Solutions announcing a press conference and rally to oppose a "national" meeting organized by Glenn Spencer (Voices of Citizens Together a. k. a. The American Patrol) and Sachem Quality of Life, scheduled to be held in Patchogue, N.Y. on August 3, 2001. The press release quoted a "Newsday" editorial, "Spencer is coming to Long Island to 'spread his crazed message of hate' against immigrants."

The press conference was designed to be a show of support for a "growing alliance" of Long Islanders who opposed anti-immigrant groups.
