Program, NAPRHSW/NACOPRW, Woman's History Month & Social Worker's Month

Women's History Month and Social Worker's Month event program, sponsored jointly by the National Association of Hispanic Social Workers, Inc. (NAPRHSW), and the National Conference of Puerto Rican Women, Inc. (NACOPRW), March 2000.

The first chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Social Workers, Inc. was founded in 1983, and the Suffolk County chapter formed in 1993. The organization supports social workers and other human services professionals in Puerto Rican/Hispanic communities through advocacy, professional growth opportunities and connections to community resources for the Latino population.

The National Conference of Puerto Rican Women, founded in 1972, has chapters in several states. The NACOPRW focuses on promotion of civic and cultural participation by Puerto Rican and other Latina women in the United States. The group is dedicated to the preservation of Latino cultural heritage, and to serving the broader Hispanic community.
