Thirteenth annual report, presented to Long Island elected officials, Nassau/Suffolk Hispanic Task Force, 2001. The theme of the 2001 regional conference was "Bridging the Gap Essential Legislation.";The Nassau/Suffolk Hispanic Task Force (NAPRHSW) is a non-profit organization founded in 1983 by a group of Puerto Rican social workers as a community resource advocating for and offering services to Latinos.;The "Somos el Futuro" Conference is an annual legislative gathering focused on addressing the needs and challenges of the growing Latino community on Long Island. One goal of the conference is to identify issues concerning Latino communities, and to encourage and increase Latino participation in the creation of public policy.
