This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Champlain Canal in Whitehall. It shows the Village of Whitehall, Lake Champlain, a lake basin, Skeenes Mountain, Wood Creek, multiple mills and factories, four bridges, over a hundred buildings, the Road to Fort Ann and the Road to Granville. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of Wheeler, Van Benthousser, E. Smith, W. Haskill, Patrick Johnson, Widow Tozer and J. Phosdic.
