Alien deposition, William Hyland, 1825

Deposition of Irish alien William Hyland, declaring his intent to become naturalized as a citizen of the United States. The affidavit acknowledged Hyland's residence in the U.S., and enabled him to acquire, own, and dispose of property. This right expired in six years if he had not been naturalized during that time.
