Robert Coppingh vs. Claes Jansen ; defendant is sued as security for a debt ; denies being security ; offers to take his oath that he signed the paper only as a witness ; plaintiff ordered to produce sworn certificates from Robert Dunsterre and William Durant that defendant did sign as principal, and not as witness. Teunis Nyssen vs. Juriaen Fradel, husband of farmer Hendrick's widow, action for recovery of 1,500 guilders ; plaintiff ordered to produce proof. Oloff Stevensen (van Cortland) vs. rev. Everardus Bogardus, slander ; plaintiff again demands proof of the allegations contained in defendant's answer of the 22d ult., which plaintiff expressly denies ; ordered accordingly. 
Order. To rev. Mr. Bogardus to answer the papers sent him on the 8th ult., with his reasons why he slandered the magistracy in the pulpit and in his writings. 
Court proceedings. Oloff Stevensen (van Cortland) vs. rev. Everardus Bogardus, slander ; defendant answers plaintiff's denial of his allegations, which are again repeated, accusing plaintiff anew of having threatened the directors of the company, and enriched himself with his masters' property ; plaintiff protests against this calumny and defamation, and declares defendant unworthy of being a clergyman ; defendant, ordered a second time to prove his assertions.
