Sentence. Michel Picquet, of Rouen, for slandering and threatening ex-director Kieft ; also, for threatening director Stuyvesant, breaking jail, and absconding, and refusing to appear and defend himself, notwithstanding he was summoned so to do three times, by the ringing of the bell: to be banished for ever from the province, his property confiscated, and his name posted on the gallows. [1647]
