Germans invading Russia with their dogs, 1915

Detail of ambulance men accompanied by their dogs, following victorious Germans into Russia. The men with the dogs also have a white arm band which, as can be seen be the man on the far left, has a medical cross on it. This identification band – along with the fact that none of these men carry rifles – indicates that the men with the dogs were assigned to medical duties.
