Bombay, India - Street of the Pearl Dealers

The Street of the Pearl Dealers in Bombay (Mumbai), India, filled with people mostly wearing white clothes and turbans. Two men are pushing a handcart, and a horse-drawn carriage is traveling down the center of the street. A banner in English advertising fancy toys and cutlery goods is prominent on the right, near another banner that is written in an Indian language, possibly Hindi. The street is surrounded by tall buildings, many with awnings on the first floor and elaborate balconies above. One building on the right is made of stone and has eight archways (1912).
