Delhi, India - The Great Mosque

Jama Masjid, or the Great Mosque, in Delhi, Punjab, India. The mosque is topped by three giant domes and two minarets. The massive entryway and steps leading up to it can be seen on the right. In the foreground across the street from the mosque, several carts are stationed, with camels resting and oxen strolling about. The Great Mosque of Delhi, was built in 1656 and covers an area of 1400 square yards. It has three massive domes covered with black and white marble and topped with gold. The two minarets are 130 feet tall, (1911).
