The rocky wells of the Zugspitze towering above Lake Eibsee in Bavaria, Germany; The Zugspitze is the tallest mountain in Germany at 9,725 feet, and it straddles the Germany-Austria border. Eibsee, the town located at the base of the German side of the mountain in the picture, is home to Lake Eibsee and the Eibsee Hotel, located on the shore of the lake. Both the lake and the hotel are visible, (1926). See also slide B16302.
