India - Loading Grain on Bullock Cart

Two men, both wearing turbans, gather up bundles of grain and load them on top of a cart pulled by two oxen in a field near Taxila, Punjab Province, India. One man is on the ground, while the other is standing on top of the grain on top of the cart. Given the field’s proximity to Taxila, this picture was most likely taken in what is now Pakistan. Due to intense irrigation, the Punjab region is very fertile, and provides the bulk of India and Pakistan’s grain reserves, (1933).
