N.Y. Albany. State Capitol. Western Staircase from Fourth Floor. (Before 1911)

View from the fourth floor of the Great Western Staircase in the New York State Capitol. Elaborately carved archways and rails separate the fourth floor corridor from the staircase. A skylight above lets in the daylight. Designed by Isaac Perry, the staircase took 600 stone carvers 13 years to complete. It was finished in 1896.
