N.Y. Albany. State Capitol. Senate Chamber from S. E. Corner

Color slide of the interior view of Senate Chamber in the State Capitol from the southeast corner. Designed by Henry H. Richardson, the Senate Chamber opened in 1881. The room was constructed with materials imported from around the world. The upper walls are covered with gold leaf. In this image, the gallery overlooks the senators' desks on the Chamber floor. One of the granite fireplaces can be seen in the back corner.
