Group of Hop Pickers

A group of hop pickers near Cooperstown - men, women, and children, posed in a hop field. The group stands near a makeshift tent probably put up for shade. New York was a leader in the production of hops by 1849. The major producing counties were Otsego, Oneida, Madison, Schoharie, and Montgomery, n.d.
