Asia Minor, Turkish Soldiers Drilling in Konia

Turkish soldiers drilling in front of a government building, or konak. They are surrounded by a crowd of men and boys, as well as women in traditional charshafs. A carriage and horses are on the right hand side. The Ottoman Empire was engaged in two wars in Europe in 1912 and 1913 against allied forces from Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, and Bulgaria over territories in Macedonia and Thrace, and participated in World War I on the side of the Central Powers, (1913).
