Interior of Sheref-ed-din Mosque in Konia, Asia Minor. Arches and vaultings are displayed in detail. There are numerous elaborately decorated vaults and interior domes, with Arabic verses written above the archways. Geometric patterns are repeated, meant to represent the infinite nature of Allah. Large domes such as this were common features of mosques from this period, (1913).
