Man Looks for Work, 1917

During the First World War, the American shipping industry was of vital importance. In addition to carrying soldiers overseas, ships were also utilized to transport supplies and munitions to keep soldiers and support units fully equipped.

This letter was written by a man inquiring as to where he could find work at the shipbuilding plant mentioned in the clipping enclosed in the upper left corner of the letter.
