Letter to New York State Comptroller N.K. Hopkins from Adolph Kielgast requesting a pension for his service in the First Regiment of New York Volunteers during the Mexican War. Two comrades signed the letter verifying Adolph Kielgast’s service: Daniel E. Carpenter and Henry Gains. Also included: letter to N.K. Hopkins from Ward B. Burnett verifying the service of Adolph Kielgast.
