Affidavit to the New York State Comptroller from Frederick J. Stokes

Affidavit for the New York State Comptroller made by Frederick J. Stokes and witnessed by comrades J. Baptiste Grasenauer and James. E. Bissell, all veterans of the New York State Volunteers during the Mexican War. The affidavit was certified by Thomas Duffy, clerk of the 5th District Court, Parish of Orleans (LA). Col. Ward B. Burnett also sent a document asserting the validity of Stokes’ service in the Volunteers.
