Affidavit to the New York State Comptroller for Frederick J. Stokes

Affidavit for the New York State Comptroller, made by James E. Bissell, a veteran of the New York State Volunteers during the Mexican War, on behalf of his comrade Frederick J. Stokes, also a veteran of the New York State Volunteers (I Company) during the Mexican War. The affidavit was part of Stokes’ application for pension and was certified by Thomas Duffy, clerk of the 5th District Court, Parish of Orleans (LA).
