This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Erie Canal in Watervliet. The map is split into two views. The first view shows the Erie and Champlain Canal, Lock No. 44, 45, 46, 47 and 48, three bridges, twenty-three buildings and the Road to Waterford. The second view shows the lower sprout of the Mohawk River, Tibbits Island, the junction of the Champlain and Erie Canal, Lock No. 49, 50 and 51, two bridges, sixteen buildings and the Road to West Troy. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of A.G. Lansing and R.P. Hart and Company.
