A worker hand sows white pine (Pinus strobus) seed at a plantation in Ray Brook, NY. Hand sowing, also known as broadcasting, involves throwing handfuls of seed evenly over a patch of ground and then using a drag or harrow to turn them into the soil. This image was created to record the reforestation efforts of the Forest, Fish and Game Commission.
