Uncultivated Oak forest on one side, the cultivated on the other

A cloaked German forester stands on the dividing line between a managed forest and a more natural one. The difference that forest management makes is clear from the straight trunks and uncluttered growth on the managed side. Representatives from the department of conservation toured this forest in order to study forest management methods. This image was created to record the agricultural and forestry studies performed by the New York State Conservation Department.
