Wood Pulp Pile, Jefferson County, N.Y.

Piles of wood pulp located at Brownville, Jefferson County, probably near the Black River. The shortage of water during the dry season makes it necessary to grind the pulp during the time when the water is high. The pulp is then stored in these piles. This image was created to record the waterpower activities of the New York State Conservation Commission.
