New York City Hearings – April 18, 1972 (Afternoon). Recording continues General Counsel Arthur Liman examining Tom Wicker, New York Times journalist and member of the Observers’ Committee during the uprising. Wicker testifies about his experiences as an Observer, and negotiations between inmates and New York State authorities. Chairman Robert McKay recesses the afternoon session. WRVR journalist Dan Mack summarizes the afternoon session. WRVR journalist Arthur Albert takes listener phone calls. A segment of Lieutenant Maroney’s testimony and the beginning of Wicker’s testimony is replayed. Albert and Mack summarize the testimony, discuss the hearings, and take listener phone calls.
