New York City Hearings – April 20, 1972 (Afternoon). Recording of Marc Luxemberg examining Louis R. James, a district attorney in Wyoming County, New York. He describes the duties of a district attorney, his experiences during the negotiations, and his views of amnesty and prosecutions as a result of the uprising. Commission members Marshall, Henix, Guerrero, and Wilbanks ask James follow-up questions. James declines to make a final statement. Liman introduces Jose “G.I.” Paris as the next witness. Deputy General Counsel Robert Sackett examines Paris, a former Attica inmate who discusses negotiations and inmate demands. Hearing is recessed. WRVR journalists Dan Mack and Arthur Albert discuss the hearing and take listener phone calls.
