New York City Hearings – April 24, 1972. Recording continues General Counsel Arthur Liman's examination of correction officer Robert T. Curtiss about being a hostage and his experiences during the retaking. Follow-up questions are asked by Commission members Henix, Marshall, Wadsworth, Rothschild, Wilbanks, and Guerrero. Chairman Robert McKay swears in Captain Frank Wald, a retired correction officer from Attica. Liman examines Wald about his experiences as a hostage. WRVR journalist Dan Mack summarizes the morning session. WRVR journalist Mike Hanson; Louis Kemack of the Prisoner’s Rights’ Project of the Legal Aid Society; Steve Williams, former Attica inmate; and Joe Little discuss the hearings. Williams and Little are members of the Attica Defense Committee. Hanson gives a news briefing and takes listener phone calls.
