Victory Celebration on Election Night at the Biltmore Hotel, New York City

Victory celebration for the election of Averell Harriman as governor of New York, 1954. Harriman defeated Irving Ives, the protege of outgoing governor Thomas Dewey. The celebration was held at the Biltmore Hotel in New York City. Harriman, in front of microphones, raised the arms of his wife Marie and New York City mayor Robert F. Wagner, Jr., who ran on the same Democratic ticket as Harriman.
