Thomas Indian School Photograph, Exterior View: Class Portrait on Staircase

Silver gelatin photograph of students and teachers posing for a class portrait in front of a campus building. The group is mostly female students ranging in age from toddler to young adult. All are similarly dressed and seated upon a large entry staircase. Two older female students and four small boys flank the staircase. Faculty members stand at the top of the staircase, near the entrance. A small dog can be seen wedged between two students in the row between the staircase balusters. Ca. 1890's, 7 x 9", mounted.
