Woo Yo Ying and other laborers at Guy Beattie Farm

Chinese laborers Woo Yo Ying, Sing Ah Jong, Chen Ah Sue, and Wong Ah Sai working at the Guy Beattie Farm in Menands during World War II. Chen and Wong and been rescued by a Norwegian freighter after their boat had been torpedoed by a Japanese submarine. All four men came to this location as part of the Farm Manpower Service, an agency dedicated to finding previously untapped sources of farm labor.
