Decade of Our Destiny - Women: A New Force For Change

The film gives a brief overview of women’s efforts to gain equality. The film mentions efforts of Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, 1946 United Nations Commission to Study the Role and Status of Women, International Women’s Years Conference, Percy Amendment, National Commission on the Observance of International Women’s Year, and the Decade for Women 1976-1985. The film includes interviews from First Lady Rosalynn Carter; Pat Hutar, United States Delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women Now; Mildred Presinger, Chairperson for the International Women’s Year Tribune meeting; Betty Reardon, Chairperson of the Tribune Panel on Peace and Disarmament; United States Congresswoman Margaret Heckler; and Bella S. Abzug, Presiding Officer, International Women’s Year Commission. The film was produced by National Commission on the Observance of I.W.Y. in cooperation with Society For International Development New York Chapter and Bettina Corke Productions.
