Dutch colonial council minutes, 20-21 July 1645

Minute. That William de Key and Pieter van den Bergh, with the papers in the case of the fiscal against them, have been sent to Holland in order to render an account of their conduct to the directors there. [1645]

Court proceedings. Simon Dircksen Pos, appellant, Adriaen van der Donck, respondent, in appeal from a judgment pronounced by the court at Renselaerswyck ; judgment of the lower court affirmed with costs. Symon Dircksen Pos vs. Augustyn Heerman, for a case of beavers which defendant had ordered to be brought without plaintiff's consent, and which were damaged ; plaintiff ordered to prove that defendant had ordered the removal of the beavers. Augustyn Heerman vs. Symon Pos, for payment of 58 guilders ; defendant acknowledges the debt, which he is ordered to pay, on condition that plaintiff give security to abide the issue of the preceding suit.
