Declaration. Of James Bier, that capt. Jan de Vries called Wilcocks a dog and puppy, notwithstanding minister Bogardus and his wife stood at his door. [1645]

Court proceedings. Peter Cornelissen vs. Thomas Sandersen, defamation, in calling plaintiff an informer ; defendant acknowledges the charge, and pleads provocation ; which he is ordered to prove. Gerrit Douman allowed to take copy of the account of Jacob Naviere, of whom he claims to be heir. Mattys Gerbrantsen vs. Cornelis Teunissen, slander ; defendant pleads hastiness, and acknowledges that he knows nothing of the plaintiff but what is good and honorable. Cornelis Antonissen vs. Claes Jansen Ruyter, action for recovery of beavers and corn, delivered to defendant by plaintiff on his private account, and not for the patroon ; referred to the court of the colonie Renselaerswyck. Francis Weeks, plaintiff, vs. Mr. Spicer, for loss of a gun ; judgment for defendant. [1645]
