Greece - Map of the Roman Empire

“Map of the Roman Empire,” from Sir Banister Fletcher's A History of Architecture, 6th Edition. The original picture was taken with the permission of Charles Scribner’s Sons, the publishers. The map shows the greatest expansion of the Roman Empire under Emperor Trajan in 116 CE, as well as its major neighbors. The extent of the expansion is demarcated with dashed lines. The map also shows major cities of the era, such as Rome, Alexandria, Jerusalem, and Londinium (London), and gives the Latin names of the Caspian and Black Seas, n.d.
