André Captors Monument

View of the Captors Monument at Tarrytown marking the location where John Paulding, David Williams and Isaac Van Wart of Westchester county captured British Major John André during the Revolutionary War. André was seized while attempting to return to New York City with plans of West Point, given to him by the American traitor Benedict Arnold. The capture took place on September 23, 1780 and the monument was dedicated in 1853. On top of the monument is a statue of John Paulding.
