Letchworth State Park

View down the Genesee River Gorge near the Gardeau Flats between Portage, Livingston County (near side) and Genesee Falls, Wyoming County (far side). Perhaps three hundred vertical feet of sandstone and shale dating from the Devonian Period is exposed. (Devonian Period: the span of the Earth's history from about 408 to 360 million years ago.)
