Lake George Islands - Rip-Rap Work

View of a rip-rap on Lake George on the Warren County side. (Rip-rap: "a loose assemblage of broken stones erected in water or on soft ground as a foundation; the broken stones used for such a foundation" (Dictionary.com).) The date is unrecorded, but probably ca. 1900-1920. This image was created to record the landscape activities of the New York State Forest, Fish and Game Commission, Conservation Commission, or Conservation Department.
