United States Treasury Building in New York City, August 6, 1938

The United States Treasury Building, also known as Federal Hall, located on Wall Street in New York City. The U.S. Treasury Building was built in 1700 as New York's city hall and served as the first capitol building of the United States of America. The building was also the site of George Washington's inauguration and the introduction of the Bill of Rights during the First Congress. The building was demolished in 1812, and the Federal Hall National Memorial was built in 1842.
