Promissory Note, 1777

Promissory note for the amount of £8, 12 shillings to be paid to Robert W. Leake. The signature is that of Daniel Kinsley, and there are many mispellings in the writing, such as the words "wittnes" and "Robert Lake" as well as the author's failure to capitalize "pittstown," "february," and "york" which suggests that Kinsley may not have been as educated as Leake. Another Kinsley signed as a witness, as did one other individual whose signature is illegible.
