Latino New Yorkers and Affirmative Action Report

Report to New York State Assembly Subcommittee for Affirmative Action on Latino New Yorkers and affirmative action, one result of Executive Order Number 82, 1986. It was widely believed in the early 1980s that Latinos did not benefit from affirmative action policies.

The New York State Assembly Standing Committee on Governmental Operations Subcommittee on Affirmative Action formed to research, compile information and report on the affirmative action program and its successes and failures from 1981-1986.

Executive Order Number 82, signed into law on May 11, 1986 by Governor Mario Cuomo, established the Governor's Office for Hispanic Affairs.
