Affidavit for the New York State Comptroller, made by J. Baptiste Grasenauer, a veteran of the New York State Volunteers (B Company) during the Mexican War, on behalf of his comrade Frederick J. Stokes, also a veteran of the New York State Volunteers (I Company) during the Mexican War. The affidavit was part of Stokes’ application for a pension.
