Letter to the Adjutant General of New York from Peter Uhl, a veteran of the New York State Volunteers during the Mexican War, who wrote to request information about the procedure for obtaining pension monies from the allotment then granted by the State. Uhl wrote from York, Pennsylvania, and the last name may actually be spelled Ahl.
