No. 4. Whipples Bridge Plan

Drawing of a design, by Squire Whipple, for bridges to be built over the Erie Canal. A note on the drawing, by Daniel Marsh, Resident Engineer, certifies that the plan was publicly exhibited at the engineer’s office in the City of Rochester, November 18, 1851. The scale is one inch equals four feet. This was part of the initial enlargement of the canal (1835-1862).
