This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Erie Canal in Gaines and Barre. It shows the Gaines and Barre Town Line which runs through the center of the canal, two bridges, nine buildings and the intersection of two unidentified roads. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of Thomas Pheatt, Robert Allen, Durphy Delano and Avery M. Starkweather.
