This is an ink, wash and charcoal map of a section of the Erie Canal in Canajoharie. It shows the Mohawk River, Bowman’s Creek, a dry dock and basin, Lock No. 17, an area conveyed to the state by John A. Ehle, two bridges, twenty-two buildings, the Road to Charleston and the Road to Spraker’s Basin. The red lines indicate courses and distances. The blue lines indicate canal right-of-way. The map also shows the properties of John A. Ehle and Nicholas Van Alstyne.
