Account book excerpt, 1771-1773

An excerpt from Robert Leake’s account book during the construction of a mill. Page one contains expenses from November 2, 1772 through March 29, 1773. Expenses totalled £40. Page two lists expenses from June of 1772 through January 27, 1773. Page three records expenses, totalling £1.6.9, from November through December 24 that are "due Henry." Page four records expenses dated June, 1772 through January 27, 1773. Expenses total £7.16.5 for this set of costs. Page five contains Leake's name at the top with a blank page dated "1772." Page six records expenses totalling £6.2.7, dated January 19, 1773 through May, 21, 1773. Page seven records expenses listed from June 20, 1772 through January 28, 1773. Amount due to "Mr. Smith" totals £0.1.3. Page eight is a blank page dated "1772." Page nine records expenses dated January 25 through May 18. The last digit of Leake's total is missing because of a torn corner, although "£6.0" is visible. On page ten, Leake lists the total cost "to building of a saw mill finished on that day" at £40. Dated March 10, 1772. On page eleven, Leake listed three expenses, each at £0.6.0, for May 7-9, May 25-26, and June 7-8, 1773. Page twelve has one entry, dated May 22, 1773, "to Cash" for £6.2.7 1/2.
