Four page letter from John Leake to Robert W. Leake, 1775

A letter from John Leake to Robert W. Leake. John advised him on business matters in New York concerning the current market, and that a sale he was considering would be underpriced. "Nothing else is talked of here but war," wrote John on page two, referring to recent events in Boston. John discussed business dealings with a Mr. Doubleday that John said would "put money in our pockets" on page three. On page four, John told his brother to "keep what money you have by you" due to the chaotic nature of the times. He specifically mentioned how this was affecting public offices.
