The Factory Investigating Commission's Wage Classification data card for Bloomer Brothers' box factory in Newark, New York. The card lists types of occupations, gender and age categories of employees, and rates of pay for employees at the factory. Employees were generally paid by the piece. For example, egg box packers were paid 1.5¢-2¢ per 125 boxes.
